Fender American Standard 50th Anniversary FMT Cobalt Guitar
Here is a very rare guitar: the Fender American Standard 50th Anniversary FMT Cobalt visiting Esprit Guitare for some repairs and adjustments.
First repair, and not the least: the electronics. Several problems noted and repaired. There remains the humbucker (a DH1) of which one of the coils has been damaged and cannot be repaired in the workshop. The solution of wiring it simply was adopted, while waiting to see if the customer wishes to replace the microphone. At least that way it works. 😉
Another repair, replacement of the original nut (metal, ball) for a more conventional bone nut. A somewhat complicated job because the two fixing screws of the metal nut had been destroyed. So they had to be destroyed…
Finally, repair on the bass E string saddle, one of the height adjustment screws was rusty and seized.
We finish this project with a partial fret leveling (8 frets, anyway!), polishing of the frets, hydration and maintenance of the fingerboard, cleaning and polishing, installation of new strings, truss rod adjustment, action and intonation.
Here it is refurbished! 🙂
