Ibanez AKJ95 guitar
The Esprit Guitare lutherie workshop received a visit from this splendid Ibanez AKJ95 !
Overview of this Ibanez AKJ95
This beautiful Ibanez arrived at the workshop somewhat undressed. The owner had dismantled the strings (and therefore the floating bridge and tailpiece) and part of the frets. His goal was to refret it himself but ultimately, he preferred to entrust this delicate work to a professional.
Work completed
It is therefore the refretting which consisted of the majority of this project.
Obviously, who says refretting, says adjustment. It was necessary to reassemble the nut, which was a little too close to the new frets. Then, a floating bridge also requires special adjustment. The neck also had a truss rod adjustment.
Maintenance of the fingerboard, cleaning, polishing, installation of new strings and testing.
Conclusion
Not only does it look good, but it’s also very pleasant to play and surprisingly versatile. Excellent guitar! 🙂
