Ibanez EW20A Guitar
Overview of this Ibanez EW20A
This Ibanez EW20A is just splendid! The wood of this table! Whoa!
Well, it arrived in poor condition! Forgotten in an attic for a long time, now it comes out into the open.
Rusty mechanics, cobwebs in the body…
In the photos, I have put you some images of the state before work.
Work completed
We start by dismantling, cleaning and rusting the mechanics. Fortunately, they are all functional after this operation. We reserve them for later.
Then we move on to cleaning. There is work! A few bindings to glue back on, then we refurbish the fingerboard, we pamper the frets, in short, we restore it!
And then we reassemble the tuners, put on new strings and make it all sound!
Conclusion
Well, the preamp is dead, so no more electronics for the moment (research is underway to find a replacement), but that doesn’t stop it from having a great sound and a great touch.
Not only is it beautiful, but it sounds great! Absolute class!
A little before/after on the photos.
