Big project at the Esprit Guitare workshop for this beautiful Ibanez S670FM !!
Indeed, at Ibanez, we build light. Sometimes a little too much… As a result, a vibrato pivot has moved, split part of the body and nothing is holding correctly. Unplayable guitar…
Firstly, we modify the passage of the cables in the cavities to reinforce the wood holding the pivot. Then, we add another piece of wooden reinforcement along the entire length of the microphone cavity, as close as possible to the bridge. Painting then varnished on this new part, repositioning of the two trestle pivots, and we can attack another part of the project: the shielding of the cavity.
Finally, we put everything back together and move on to the (partial) fret leveling, then polishing the frets, maintaining the fingerboard, cleaning, polishing, fitting new strings and adjusting: truss rod, saddles, intonation (with the magic Japanese tool ;-)), and off we go for many years! 😉
