Bass Seymour Duncan Traditional series
Overview of this Seymour Duncan bass
This is a rarity! This bass Seymour Duncan Traditional series Jazz Bass type went through the Esprit Guitare violin workshop for a complete overhaul.
We know Seymour Duncan well for the manufacturing quality of his microphones, but less for his instrument manufacturing. And this is normal, since these instruments were not manufactured by Seymour Duncan but by the famous ESP brand which produced quite a few replicas of other brands between the mid-90s and 2004.
These are therefore rare and quality instruments.
Work completed
The bass is therefore old… and it is in its juice…
So, we start with a big cleaning. The trickiest part is scraping the corrosion off the knob plate and the bridge. Obviously, all this requires proper disassembly 😉 and the usual maintenance of the neck, frets, etc.
Then we can move on to reassembly and installation of new strings and adjustment.
Conclusion
The handle is thin, you have to like it. But it sounds rootsy and square. I like it. All the parts are original and that gives it a very special character. An endearing bass 😉
