Harley Benton 12-String RB-612CS Classic Series Guitar
The Esprit Guitare lutherie workshop received a visit from a very pretty 12-string electric guitar!!
That’s rare!
Overview of this RB-612CS Classic Series
It is the Thomann house that produces this guitar. Okay, they didn’t produce it. They had it produced by someone else, most likely in an Asian country where labor costs nothing. Anyway this little beauty arrived at the workshop for her first tuning session.
Yes, I’ve already said it and repeated it dozens of times: “a new guitar can be adjusted”… I’m not going to go over that again.
Many of my customers have understood this well, including Mr. D. who brings me guitars very regularly. I think he must have had around thirty guitars serviced or adjusted in the workshop.
Work completed
For this one, it’s a simple adjustment, but since it’s a 12 string, it’s a little more work.
A little work on the truss rod (twelve strings, it pulls hard) and a little on the intonation too (and twice as much work, as a result 😉).
Conclusion
As someone who loves 12 strings, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to tell you about this one. Especially in electric, it’s rather rare.
This one stands out very well. It is pleasant to play. The sound is surprisingly low-mid, for a twelve-string, which makes it more versatile than one might expect.
Very good instrument and very good value for money!
