Steinberger Spirit GU Deluxe Guitar
Overview of this Steinberger Spirit GU Deluxe
Here is another rare guitar, visiting the Esprit Guitare workshop. This is the Steinberger Spirit GU Deluxe.
This one arrived in poor condition, poor thing. Two missing saddles, a loose bridge, random adjustment and dust everywhere!
Work completed
Replacement of the bridges as a priority! A delicate operation given the rarity of the machine and the difficulty in finding unusual spare parts. Luckily, I ended up finding this!
Then, we move on to checking the electronics, cleaning, polishing, polishing the frets, maintenance and hydration of the fingerboard, installation of new strings (again, not standard at all…), and adjustment.
The adjustment was complicated and required a second complete disassembly of the bridge. But in the end, it’s done!
Conclusion
An atypical guitar is complicated to understand because we are accustomed to certain codes, which may be absent. So, we spend more time on it, we play on it, we make it our own and once it’s done, it’s fireworks! a rich, versatile, fine guitar… An endearing guitar.
